We believe that baptism is a critical step in the biblical plan of salvation. Baptism is performed in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, as outlined in the teachings of the Book of Acts. We hold that baptism symbolizes a believer’s death to sin, burial with Christ, and resurrection to new life.
Our practice of baptism is by full immersion in water, following the example set by Jesus Christ and the apostles. This reflects the scriptural command to be baptized for the remission of sins, as stated in Acts 2:38 (KJV):
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
We also believe that baptism is more than a symbolic act—it is a transformative experience that reflects a believer’s commitment to living a new life in Christ. By being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, believers publicly declare their faith and acceptance of the gospel message.
Baptism in the name of Jesus is the only method we practice, as it aligns with the teachings consistently found throughout the New Testament, particularly in the Book of Acts. We believe that this step is essential for the remission of sins and is followed by the receiving of the Holy Spirit.
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Through the act of baptism, we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, symbolizing a spiritual renewal and a new beginning in the life of the believer.
“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
